Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this keyboard if you need a full-size layout with a number pad for data entry or spreadsheets. The multi-device Bluetooth connection suits users who switch between a Mac, PC, and tablet. The scissor switches offer a familiar, quiet typing feel similar to laptop keyboards. If you prefer a low-profile design that does not take up much vertical space on your desk, this slim 15-millimeter unit fits well. The three-month battery life reduces the need for frequent charging.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you require a compact or tenkeyless layout. The full-size dimensions and included number pad make it too large for small desks or limited workspace. If you prefer mechanical switches for a tactile click or heavy travel, the scissor switches may feel too soft. Users needing a wired connection for zero latency or specific driver support will find only Bluetooth connectivity here. Additionally, if you need a keyboard with dedicated media controls beyond the 20 shortcuts, this model may lack the specific buttons you want.
Verdict: This full-size Bluetooth keyboard offers a slim, multi-device solution for users who need a number pad and quiet scissor switches. It is a practical choice for mixed Mac and Windows setups where space efficiency matters.
Key specs explained
Form Factor: Full-size
This layout includes a dedicated number pad on the right side. You get the standard main keys, arrow keys, and function row. This design suits users who type numbers frequently, such as accountants or data entry workers. It requires more desk space than compact layouts. If you rarely use the numpad, a smaller keyboard might save room.
Switch Type: Scissor
The keyboard uses scissor-switch mechanisms under the keycaps. This design offers a stable, short travel distance for each keystroke. You will experience a responsive and quiet typing feel. It is similar to the switches found in many laptops. This type is ideal for office environments where noise matters and you prefer a flat, comfortable surface for long sessions.
Connectivity: Bluetooth
This device connects wirelessly via Bluetooth without needing a receiver dongle. You can pair up to three devices simultaneously and switch between them easily. This is convenient for switching between a Mac and a Windows PC or a tablet. It keeps your desk clutter-free. Ensure your devices support Bluetooth pairing for this feature to work correctly.
Battery Life: 3 months
The built-in rechargeable battery lasts up to three months based on average daily use. You do not need to charge it often, reducing maintenance hassle. This duration supports typical office or home use patterns. It allows you to work wirelessly for extended periods without interruption. Check the manual for specific usage habits that might alter this estimate.
Design and Build Quality
The Macally Full-Size Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard presents a compact profile for a full-size layout. According to the listing, the device measures 17.1 inches in height and 6.5 inches in length. Its width is listed at 0.98 inches, contributing to an ultra-slim form factor. The keyboard weighs 1.35 pounds, making it portable enough for travel. The listing notes a thickness of 15 millimeters, which helps it fit neatly under monitors or in laptop bags.
Finish options include White, Aluminum Silver, and Space Gray. These choices allow you to match the keyboard to your existing desktop setup. The white variant offers a clean look, while the metallic options provide a more industrial aesthetic. The listing does not specify the exact material composition, but the slim design suggests a plastic or composite construction that prioritizes low profile over heavy durability.
Layout controls are integrated directly into the keycaps. You get 110 keys, including a number pad and 20 shortcut keys. These shortcuts are preset for Mac and Windows compatibility, reducing the need for external software. The scissor-switch mechanism supports thin keycaps for responsive touch. This design choice means you get a stable typing experience without the travel distance of mechanical switches. The Bluetooth connectivity removes cable clutter, allowing you to place the keyboard anywhere within range of your devices.
Setup and Everyday Use
You do not need to install any drivers to use this keyboard. The listing states it is plug-and-play with most Bluetooth-compatible technology. You can connect it to laptops, MacBooks, smart TVs, gaming consoles, and devices from Apple, Microsoft, Chrome, or Samsung. This makes it versatile for mixed environments. You can pair up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously. This allows you to switch between your work computer, personal laptop, and tablet without unpairing anything. The keyboard supports both Mac and Windows operating systems, so you can use it regardless of your primary machine.
Daily use is defined by its physical and power specifications. The scissor-switch mechanism provides a responsive touch with quiet typing. This design supports thin keycaps, which may appeal to those who prefer a shallow travel distance. The layout includes 110 keys, including 20 shortcut keys and a number pad. These shortcuts are preset for productivity tasks. You do not need to download software to access them.
Power management is handled by a built-in rechargeable battery. The manufacturer claims the battery lasts three months based on average use of three hours per day. You can use the keyboard while plugged in or wirelessly. This flexibility means you are not constantly tethered to a cable. The device weighs 1.35 pounds, making it portable enough for travel. Its slim profile at 15 millimeters thick ensures it fits easily into bags or on desks without taking up much space.
Before You Buy This Keyboard
You will likely pair this keyboard with a mouse for full desktop control. Since it connects via Bluetooth, ensure your host devices support that standard. The listing notes compatibility with Mac, Windows, Chrome, and Samsung devices. You should verify your specific laptop or TV model supports simultaneous Bluetooth connections, as the keyboard handles up to three devices at once. Battery care is straightforward. You recharge the internal cell, which the manufacturer claims lasts three months with average daily use. Keep the charging cable handy for those times when you need power while traveling or working near a desk. This model fits into the 1 options on our page as a slim, full-size alternative. It suits users who prefer a low profile but still need a number pad. If you require mechanical switches or wired reliability, consider other picks.
