Specifications side by side

Corsair Gaming Mice Compared by Specs

Corsair’s lineup splits into two distinct categories based on connectivity and button layout. The Scimitar series dominates the MMO niche with side-mounted buttons and RGB backlighting. You can choose wired or wireless options, with the Elite Wireless SE offering white or black finishes. These models prioritize button count over lightweight design.

For FPS and MOBA players, Corsair offers lighter, traditional mice. The Sabre v2 PRO Wireless MG weighs just 1.97 ounces and supports high polling rates. The wired KATAR PRO XT provides a compact 2.57-ounce alternative for claw or fingertip grips. These models focus on speed and precision rather than extensive macro capabilities.

Where Corsair fits in the market

Corsair’s current range covers distinct use cases. You can choose between specialized MMO mice with side-mounted buttons or standard FPS shapes. Sizes vary from the compact Sabre v2 PRO at 1.97 ounces to the heavier Scimitar series, which weighs over 4 ounces. Lighting is consistently RGB across most models, though the KATAR PRO XT does not list backlighting. Connectivity splits between wired and wireless options. You will not find any ergonomic left-handed designs or mice with magnetic switches in this selection. The lineup prioritizes button count for MMO players or low weight for FPS shooters.

How to choose the right one

1. Match connectivity to your desk

Decide between wired and wireless based on your setup. Wired mice like the Scimitar RGB Elite offer consistent power without charging. Wireless models such as the Scimitar Elite Wireless SE provide freedom from cables. If you play FPS games, the Sabre v2 PRO Wireless MG reduces drag. Choose wired for zero latency concerns. Select wireless for a cleaner workspace. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize cable management or connection stability.

2. Select the right form factor

Mouse size affects comfort and control. The Scimitar series measures 6.89 inches long and 4.49 inches wide, fitting larger hands. The Sabre v2 PRO is compact at 4.84 inches long. Smaller mice like the Sabre suit claw or fingertip grips. Larger mice support palm grips better. Check the dimensions against your hand size. A mouse that is too large or small will cause fatigue. Match the physical size to your grip style for better precision.

3. Check the button layout

Button placement defines the mouse’s purpose. MMO mice like the Scimitar Elite feature side-mounted buttons for quick access to abilities. These are ideal for MOBA and MMO gamers. Standard mice like the Sabre v2 PRO rely on traditional side buttons. They suit FPS players who do not need many keys. Determine how many buttons you actually use. Extra buttons add bulk but may remain unused. Choose based on your game’s control requirements.

4. Consider the weight for speed

Weight impacts how fast you can move the mouse. The Sabre v2 PRO weighs 1.97 ounces, making it very light. This benefits FPS players who need quick flicks. The Scimitar series weighs over 4 ounces, providing stability. Heavier mice feel more substantial but require more effort to move. Lighter mice allow for faster reactions. Select a weight that matches your play style. Lightweight mice reduce strain during long gaming sessions.

5. Verify color and aesthetics

Color is a cosmetic choice that does not affect performance. The Scimitar Elite Wireless SE is available in white or black. Most other models are black. Choose a color that matches your keyboard or desk setup. RGB backlighting adds visual flair but drains battery in wireless models. Wired models like the Scimitar RGB Elite always have power for lighting. Pick a color you enjoy seeing. Aesthetic preferences are personal and do not change specs.
